New TOA Digital Mixer Provides Innovative Automatic Resonance Control!

March 16, 2006 ¾ SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA  ¾ TOA Electronics, Inc. has introduced the new DP-K1 digital mixer, the latest addition to the company’s line of innovative digital audio processing solutions. The DP-K1 includes TOA’s new Auto Resonance Control (ARC) function, a groundbreaking measurement and processing algorithm that can significantly improve speech intelligibility in facilities with challenging acoustic environments such as houses of worship, sports facilities, convention centers, airports and others.

Using a standard microphone, the DP-K1’s ARC function first measures the indirect sound within the acoustic environment and displays the resulting frequency response curve and resonant frequencies. Next, using onboard digital parametric equalizer filters, the processor automatically applies an inverse response curve to compensate for the measured room response. The resulting flat frequency response, achieved in minutes, provides the operator with a reliable foundation on which to apply additional “fine-tuning” equalization using additional filters and other digital processing tools including compressors, crossovers and delays.

“Everyone involved in sound system design, installation and measurement should take a close look at the DP-K1 and TOA’s new ARC technology,” notes Steve Mate, Director of Marketing for TOA Electronics, Inc. “ARC is fast and easy to use and, best of all, will help contractors provide their customers with better sounding systems, regardless of the environment.”

Featuring a modular design to allow for cost-effective configuration, the DP-K1 supports up to eight mic/line inputs and eight line outputs with a variety of remote control options. Other highlights include PC software control and network interface. The DP-K1 is backed by TOA’s five-year warranty.
