About Trantec

In case the Trantec brand is new to you, let’s provide some background information.

Trantec is a premium brand owned by our parent, TOA Corporation.  For over two decades Trantec systems have been applauded as radio products that are not only designed to the highest specifications, but also utilize the highest levels of technology--making Trantec synonymous with a mark of quality.

With R&D based in the United Kingdom, Trantec products offer advanced radio frequency technology to the worlds of music, broadcast, audio visual, and performing arts.

The product line caters to the most challenging contemporary audio demands particularly within broadcast, film, music and theater applications. Among many of the recent theater hits are Singing in the Rain, Annie the Musical, Covent Garden ROH, Godspell, and Chicago; television plaudits include GMTV, Big Brother, Celebrity Dancing on Ice, Celebrity Love Island, and Fat Nation. In addition Trantec offers a host of products designed specifically for the leisure industry, conferencing, education and ecclesiastical applications.

Trantec products push the boundaries of technical achievement and boast many ‘Industry standards’. In Europe, the Trantec brand offers the S.4 system as the ideal starting point for those wishing to break into wireless. It features four license-free frequencies with options for lapel, head-worn or handheld mic; or at the flick of a switch, plug in a musical instrument. Similarly, the S4.16 is a 16-channel version incorporating the four license-free frequencies and comes loaded with many additional features.  The S5.3 system offers 16 channels of pure value for audio-visual, broadcast, schools, theaters and semi-pro bands.

In the US and Canada the S5.5 system comes fully loaded with 24 channels.  And for the professional market, the S6000 system, available through a special distribution channel, has been specifically designed and engineered for those who demand high levels of flexibility that meet the needs of today's challenging market place. Already in use in many TV and West End theaters the receivers come with PC monitoring and a staggering 72 MHz of operating range. An internal small format PC, running Windows XP, gathers data from the receivers and the whole system (up to 40 receivers) can be monitored and controlled from a single screen. The Trantec  S6000 system has recently won the prestigious ‘Eddy’ award for technical excellence in entertainment design.

Trantec products are manufactured by TOA and are available in the US through a special network of authorized dealers.

·          S5.5 wireless transmitters operate for over 10 hours on a single inexpensive and easily available AA alkaline battery.

·          Simple programming of transmitter with in built infra-red data link.

·          USB based PC monitor facility allows fully interactive monitoring and control of all system performance aspects including RF and AF level, together with transmitter battery status, squelch and frequency setting functions.

·          High-quality true-diversity operation using twin RF sections eliminates dead spots and ensures more stable signal reception.

·          A minimum 30 MHz operating window provides true frequency flexibility, preventing conflict with other radio wave signals.

·          Professional-quality metal enclosures for both transmitter and receiver.

·          Integral triple-action tone/noise and RF signal strength muting circuit protects against external interference, so signals from the transmitter are received clearly, thus ensuring worry-free use.

·          Clear and intuitive LCD displays on transmitter and receiver, enabling easy checking of frequency settings and remaining battery life.

System Expansion Information

Antenna System Expansion: The Trantec receiver uses TNC Female Connectors. TNC Male to BNC Female adapters will be needed for antenna system expansion. (TNC-M to BNC-F adapters are available from other vendors.)

·          YW-4500 Remote Antennas can be used.

·          WD-4800 Antenna Distributor can be used.

USB Monitoring System Expansion: The Trantec receiver uses the square USB connector. USB cables and hubs will be required for connecting multiple systems together for PC monitoring. (These items are available from other vendors.)
